All new employees are provided training in:
- Understanding and managing aggressive behaviour
- Clinical management
- Internal policies and procedures
- Fire extinguisher use
Depending on the needs of our clients, staff may also receive training related to:
- Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders
- Cognitive behavioural therapy
- Training for administering medication
- Autism spectrum disorder
- Attachment theory
- Clinical writing
Co-Op Placements and Training
Hatts Off Inc accepts co-op placements from colleges and universities. We offer flexible hours, onsite training, and supervision from a qualified child and youth or mental health worker.
All students are required to attend an interview with a resume, as well as obtain a vulnerable sector police check, child welfare check, immunization records, and a medical note clearing them to work. We also request that students attend all new staff training listed above. Co-op students are not allowed to participate in restraints with clients and will not be left unsupervised with clients.
